Dog AND child friendly?! What more could you want? (Well actually i’m a bit scared of dogs but anyway…).
My favourite thing about this place is the website – the photo on the main page has a bloke with a pushchair in it so straight away we know where we are.
The article in The Post when the old Mudcrab re-opened on Central Avenue in West Bridgford just before christmas, was appealing to ‘yummy mummies’ but me and Arthur have given it a go anyway.
The first time we went with a friend at 11am on a Saturday and it was so busy. You grab yourself a table which we did after a short wait. It’s split over two levels so with the pushchair we stuck to downstairs. I had the amazing diner breakfast with pancakes, bacon, beans, eggs and mini-hash browns (see photo).
I loved it so much that Ryan came along with me and Arthur on a Tuesday night. After 5pm it’s ‘tapas Tuesday’ so you get three tapas and bread with a glass of wine for £10.50. A lot less busy at 6pm on a Tuesday but the tapas were still flying out.
My only criticism is the baby changing facilities. The changing table is weirdly dirty on the top of it (not the actual table bit) I don’t know how to describe it but it’s kind of a fluffy dusty debris with some chip bits mixed in. Both time we’ve been the nappy bin has been overflowing. I’m sure they’ve been incredibly busy but having been open 6 weeks the collection could have been got on top of by now.
Baby Changing: yes
Room for pushchair: yes, even when it was really busy the table are spacious
Highchairs: Wooden, square
